DESIGNATED CABLE MODULES FOR UNI FAN

Each UNI FAN features a cable module with a PIN-to-PIN contact point to receive power and signal. Each cable module can support up to 4 UNI FAN, allowing users to choose to use either a single fan or up to 4 fans in one go.

Note!
When using the UNI FAN SL120 in a custom water cooling configuration, make sure that the fittings on the radiators do not interfere with the contact point on the side of the fans. We suggest to use the insulating tape to isolate contact points.

SOPHISTICATED RGB LIGHTING

The 32 addressable RGB LEDs embedded in each fan (16 LEDs on either side of the frame) ensure vibrant lighting effects.

Run L-Connect as administrator
We recommend updating the latest version and update the firmware of the controller to enhance your overall experience.

Note : Please do not download any software regarding L-Connect update apart from LIAN LI website. This might occur UNI HUB(Controller) disfunction.

When L-Connect can’t control the fan speed and lighting effects, please download the fix.

  1. Unplug the USB and SATA Cable of the UNI HUB
  2. Close and exit MSI dragon center and L-connect software.
  3. Download L-Connect Fix , and run UP_MousePad.bat
  4. To check if it is downloaded correctly, please direct to your download file see details and check if the file version is 1.0.3.0
  5. Plug back the USB and SATA cables and reboot the system.
 
  1. Important Notice for Original UNI FAN Controller (Firmware v0.9 Users)

L-Connect 1 is no longer available for download. Some early UNI FAN SL users may still be using the original UNI FAN controller with firmware v0.9, which was previously only compatible with L-Connect 1.

Note: Controllers running firmware v0.9 will NOT be detected in L-Connect 3, and cannot be updated using the Firmware Local Update page. 

To continue using your UNI FAN system, please follow the steps below in order:

Step 1.  Update the original UNI FAN controller firmware from v0.9 to v1.0
Step 2. After the update, the controller will be compatible with L-Connect 3
Step 3. Use the FIRMWARE LOCAL UPDATE page to finish updating the firmware from v1.0 to v1.8

If the motherboard used in your build doesn’t have the requisite 3-PIN 5V ARGB headers, you can leave this port unplugged.

But then you won’t be able to switch to motherboard synchronisation with the toggle shown on the L-Connect.

NOTE

  1. Purchase a three-pack SL120 or a two-pack SL140(including a controller) as the starter kit for fully experienced UNI FANs with L-Connect. To control all 16 UNI FANs (4 fans each cluster) in one go, a controller is needed, no matter control with L-Connect software or sync to the motherboard. Please note that the single-pack version does not contain this controller.
  2. Please enter your motherboard BIOS and set the correspondent fan header at PWM mode. (Update your motherboard BIOS if necessary)
  3. Do not connect more than 10 UNI FANs (device up to 21W) to the controller (UNI HUB) when performing white static color. To connect more devices, please update to L-Connect 2 (reference to update guide) and use 2 or more controllers.
  4. Listed radiators are known not compatible with UNI FAN.

      Rule 1// The tubes of the radiator must avoid the tenon of the UNI FAN and be at the safe area, which is in grey in the image. 

Rule 2// The screw holes between the two fans must be 15mm width on the radiator for either 120mm or 140mm UNI FAN.
